Family

Constant-ratio scaling with an explicit aggression dial.

The mechanism

Every rung is a ratio r times the previous one. r = 2 reproduces exponential doubling; r between 1.2 and 1.8 gives a controllable middle ground. The family exists so ratio-based ladder design can be grouped and reasoned about explicitly rather than hidden inside a martingale variant.

The trade-off

Gain
One intuitive parameter controls the whole . Easy to backtest across a of r.
Cost
Capital is the geometric series base × (rⁿ⁺¹ − 1)/(r − 1) — very sensitive to r. Raising r from 1.5 to 1.8 roughly doubles the 10-level cost.

Modes in Geometric

Cost is the size of a 10-level ladder, in base-lot units. ★ marks a practical pick.

Choosing within the family

  • geometric_ratio is an alias of marti_grid_geometric; pick whichever name fits how you think about the .
  • Always re-read the cost in the after changing r — intuition is unreliable for geometric series.
