Demonstration

Presentation

Clean cursor and minimal UI chrome for presentation, recording, and screenshot workflows.

Overview

Demonstration strips away the usual styling and non-essential UI chrome, replacing the pointer with a unobtrusive indicator. It is designed for presenting trading ideas, recording educational videos, and capturing clean screenshots. The chart remains fully functional — all , zoom, and analysis tools work — but the is deliberately subtle.

Unlike other modes that change only the pointer appearance, demonstration affects the entire chart interface. Tooltips are suppressed, context menus are hidden, and floating (such as the ) are disabled. The result is a presentation-ready chart that focuses viewer attention on the data and rather than the interface chrome.

Context menus

★
Pro tip:Set up a dedicated keyboard shortcut for demo toggle. Being able to switch in and out of demo mode with a single keystroke makes it practical to use during presentations without fumbling through menus.

Best practices

★
Pro tip:Use demo when recording training content — your audience will see the chart clearly rather than being distracted by movements and flickering tooltips.
ℹ
Note:Demonstration remembers its last state across sessions. Enable it once and it stays active until you explicitly disable it. This is useful if you primarily use the platform for content creation.
★
Pro tip:Before recording, set up your chart with all the and you need. Then enable demo . The static annotations remain visible while the interface elements are suppressed — giving your recording a polished, pre-produced feel.
ℹ
Note:The hidden option (cursor set to 0%) is useful for fully automated recordings where you narrate over a pre-configured chart walkthrough and do not want the cursor to distract.

Common issues

!
Caution:The demo hides context menus entirely. If you need to access a 's properties or delete an annotation, exit demo mode first or use the object tree (which remains accessible).
ℹ
Note:Some (like economic calendar events or news markers) may still appear in demo . These can be disabled separately in the chart settings if a completely clean chart is needed.
ℹ
Note:The style preference in demo is independent of the regular cursor style. You can have a dot cursor normally and use a ring cursor in demo mode, or vice versa.

Compatibility

Demonstration works with all (, bar, line, area, , etc.) and all timeframes. It is compatible with multi-pane layouts, multi-chart windows, and all tools. The mode affects only the presentation layer — all chart and functionality remain fully accessible in the .

OBS & streaming integration

When using demonstration with OBS Studio or other streaming software, there are several considerations. The chart should be captured as a window source or display capture. If the is set to hidden mode in demonstration settings, OBS will not show a cursor overlay. For streams where you want viewers to see your mouse movements, use the ring cursor style — it is visible enough to follow but subtle enough not to distract.

Screenshot workflow

Demonstration is ideal for creating professional screenshots. After enabling demo mode, arrange your chart with the desired indicators and . Use the -free layout for screenshots that will be used in reports, articles, or social media. The absence of tooltips, context menus, and floating gives screenshots a clean, polished appearance that looks like part of a professional publication rather than a software interface.

Keyboard shortcut conflicts

The demonstration toggle shortcut may conflict with system-level shortcuts on some operating systems. For example, some screen recording software uses the same key combinations for starting and stopping recordings. If you encounter conflicts, the demonstration mode shortcut in the chart keyboard shortcuts settings to a combination that does not interfere with your recording software.

Limitations

While demonstration suppresses most UI elements, some elements are controlled by the operating system and cannot be hidden by the chart application. These include the OS-level mouse (when using OS cursor rendering), title bars, and taskbar or dock. For a completely clean capture, use full-screen mode in conjunction with demonstration mode, and consider using screen recording software that can or overlay the recording area.

Session persistence

Demonstration state is saved as part of the chart layout. When you save a layout with demo mode enabled, reopening that layout restores demo mode automatically. This is useful if you have dedicated analysis layouts for different purposes — a "presentation" layout with demo mode enabled, a "detailed analysis" layout with full UI, and a "recording" layout with specific demo settings.
