Order Flow Details

When you click the chart, the system determines the order parameters using the following resolution logic:

  • Price detection — the Y-coordinate of your click is mapped to the chart's price scale. The pixel-to-price conversion accounts for the visible range, (linear or log), and any margins.
  • Side resolution — the side (Buy/Sell) is determined by the active B/S toggle. If the toggle is set to Buy, clicking above the current price places a buy limit; clicking below places a buy limit as well, since side is independent of click location.
  • Order construction — the uses the detected price, the quantity from the bar, and the current (limit by default). Market orders are not available via Click to Order — this feature creates limit orders only.
  • Order submission — the order is submitted through the exchange API. If is enabled, the order goes through immediately. Otherwise, a confirmation dialog appears with the detected price and quantity for review.
  • — a dashed appears on the chart at the placed price level. The line colour matches the side (green for buy, red for sell). A label shows the and quantity.

Precision Tips

Accurate order placement requires understanding how the chart maps clicks to prices. Use these techniques to improve :

  • — a narrower visible gives each pixel a smaller price increment, making precise level selection easier. Zoom into the area around your target price before clicking.
  • Snap to levels — if the chart supports snap-to-grid or snap-to-levels, enable it in chart settings. Your click will snap to the nearest , , or Fibonacci level.
  • Support and resistance — zoom into key S/R before placing orders. The (dashed ) helps you hit the intended level before the order is sent.
  • Use the preview — enable "Show " to see a preview line that follows your . This line shows exactly where the order will be placed before you click, eliminating guesswork.
  • Watch the price — keep an eye on the labels while hovering. The preview price updates in real time and is displayed next to the or in the bar.

Interaction with B/S Location

The B/S Toggle Location setting determines where you select Buy or Sell before clicking the chart. Both work with Click to Order:

  • Quick Trade Panel — the B/S toggle sits in the bar at the top of the chart. This keeps all order controls grouped together, which is convenient when you frequently adjust quantity or between clicks.
  • Chart — the B/S toggle appears as an overlay near the price . This keeps the bar uncluttered and places the side selector closer to where your eyes track price levels. Preferred by traders who focus on the price scale.
  • No wrong choice — both placements function identically. Choose based on whether you prefer grouped controls () or a cleaner chart area with side selection near the (Y-Axis).

Order Line Interaction

After placing an order via Click to Order, a dashed appears on the chart. This line is interactive:

  • to adjust — click and drag the vertically to modify the order price. The order is amended on the exchange as you drag (or after releasing, depending on your exchange).
  • via line — some implementations allow -clicking the to cancel the order directly from the chart without opening the order management .
  • status — the line style changes based on order status: solid for , dashed for pending, and it disappears when cancelled or expired.
  • Multiple orders — each placed order gets its own line at the corresponding price level. Lines do not overlap and are spaced vertically if orders share the same price.

Troubleshooting

  • Click to Order not responding — ensure the feature is enabled in Settings. Verify that the chart area has focus (click anywhere on the chart first). Check that no other chart drawing tool is active (e.g. , tools) that might intercept clicks.
  • Wrong price detected — for better resolution. The price detection accuracy depends on the visible range. If the chart is zoomed out too far, a single pixel represents a price increment, making precise placement difficult.
  • Order not appearing — the order was submitted (check open orders ). The may be outside the visible range — or . Ensure your exchange is active.
  • Side keeps resetting — the B/S toggle may reset to the default side after each trade. Check if your platform has an "auto-reset side" option in settings.

Pro tip:Enable "Show " in settings to see a hover line that previews where the order will be placed — green for buy, red for sell.
