Two placement options for the B/S toggle.

When is enabled, you need a way to switch between Buy and Sell before clicking the chart. This setting determines where that toggle is shown.

Quick Trade Panel

The B/S toggle appears next to the pointer in the bar on the chart. This keeps all controls in one place and is the default option.

Chart Y-Axis

The B/S toggle appears as an overlay in the top- corner of the chart. This keeps the bar cleaner and puts the side selector closer to the price .

Visual Guide

Understanding how each option changes the chart layout helps you decide which placement fits your workflow:

  • Panel placement — the B/S buttons are integrated as part of the toolbar alongside quantity controls, M/L toggle, and settings gear. The entire toolbar is collapsible if you need full chart view.
  • Y-axis placement — a compact B/S pill widget appears in the upper- corner of the chart area. It floats above the chart content and is semi-transparent in its inactive state, becoming opaque on .
  • Both persist the currently selected side — switching between them does not reset your Buy/Sell choice. The active side is visually highlighted (green for Buy, red for Sell) in both placements.
  • If the bar is hidden, the Panel option becomes unavailable and the toggle to Y-axis placement automatically.

When to Choose Each

  • Choose Quick Trade Panel if: you are new to and want all controls visible in one consistent location; you frequently switch between Buy and Sell in quick succession; you use the panel's quantity and controls and want mouse travel.
  • Choose Chart Y-Axis if: you have a multi-monitor setup where the chart is and the top toolbar feels far from the price action; you prefer a toolbar and rely on keyboard shortcuts () for side changes; you primarily use the chart area for price analysis and only reach for the toggle occasionally.
  • Switch between them — since both are equally functional, try each for a trading session. Your preference may vary based on the , time frame, or screen layout.

Interaction with Other Settings

The B/S Toggle Location interacts with these related settings:

  • — this setting must be enabled for the B/S toggle to appear. Without Click to Order, the side selector is only available inside the Quick Trade panel.
  • bar — if the entire Quick Trade bar is hidden, the Panel option automatically falls back to Y-axis placement since the toolbar does not exist.
  • — the Y-axis overlay respects the chart overlay z-ordering. It will appear above price but below context menus and popovers.
  • — the toggle placement does not affect whether orders are confirmed before placement. These settings are independent.
