Grid Structure

Settings

Ladder depth, the opening batch, and the base size every level scales from. This section reshapes itself around the selected grid mode.

The four fields

Grid Levels
How many resting entry rungs the ladder has (2–200). With spacing, this fixes how far the grid can before it runs out.
Initial Targets
How many take-profit orders sit on the opening position. More targets = smaller slices exiting at progressively better prices.
Init Lots
How many base-sized batches the opening market order takes. This is your day-one exposure before any rung .
Grid Size
The BASE for one level, in the selected currency. Every multiplier is applied to this number.

Depth and coverage

priceBASE (L0) — market buytake-profit +target%L1 limit buy−1 × spread%L2 limit buy−2 × spread%L3 limit buy−3 × spread%L4 limit buy−4 × spread%spread
Coverage is levels × spacing: how much adverse move the ladder absorbs.

Levels and spacing are one , not two. Twenty levels at 0.5% covers 10% of adverse movement; ten levels at 1% covers the same 10% with half the orders but twice the gap between . The first configuration cycles more often and books smaller profits; the second is cheaper in fees and reacts more slowly.

  • Pick coverage from the 's realistic excursion — a few weeks of range on the chart is a better guide than a number.
  • Then pick spacing from the 's typical swing amplitude, so a normal wiggle actually crosses a level.
  • Levels falls out of the two: levels ≈ coverage ÷ spacing.
!
Caution:Deep ladders are only useful if they are funded. A 200-level exponential ladder is arithmetic fiction — the deepest rungs will be for margin long before price reaches them.

The opening position and init targets

Opening position — init lots × market fill @ baseL0target 1 · +1 × target%T1target 2 · +2 × target%T2target 3 · +3 × target%T3
Init Lots sets the opening size; Initial Targets stacks red exit lines above it.

A grid does not start flat. The engine takes a market entry at the sized init_lot batches, then covers it with init_grid_levels take-profit orders spaced one target step apart. In the ladder preview those exits are drawn as red dashed lines precisely because they are not ladder rungs — they are exits on capital you already committed.

  1. 1
    Why open at all
Without a base position a long grid would only ever have sell-side exposure after the first rung . The opening position gives the ladder something to sell into an immediate .
  2. 2
    Why several targets
One target means the whole opening position exits at a single price. Three targets exit a third at +target%, a third at +2×target%, a third at +3×target% — capturing more of a strong move without predicting it.
  3. 3
    What it costs
    init_targets × init_lot × grid_size of , spent immediately. This term appears explicitly in the minimum-capital formula.

Pro tip:With -up enabled, targets beyond the first can be configured to open new grid levels above L0 instead of plain take-profits — see the Trail Modes article.

How the section adapts to the mode

The fields are the same, but their meaning and their hints change with the selected :

  • Growth modes — the Grid Levels hint reports the deepest rung's multiple, because depth now drives size as well as coverage.
  • Decay modes — the hint notes that deep rungs at one lot, so beyond a certain depth extra levels add coverage but almost no size.
  • Multi-order modes — the Initial Targets hint clarifies that deeper rungs derive their own target count from the , so this field only governs the opening position.
  • Parametric modes — an extra block appears with just that 's dial: ratio r, exponent p, slope m, step interval N, or the size cap.
size per level — Capped MartingaleL12.00×L24.00×L38.00×L48.00×L58.00×L68.00×L78.00×L88.00×cumulative capital → 54.0× base
The same base lot under a capped-martingale curve: growth, then a hard ceiling.

Grid size and the currency

Grid size is expressed in the 's currency and is converted to lots by the engine using the 's contract and . A grid size of 100 USDT on a contract worth 10 USDT is 10 lots; the engine floors to whole lots, so a grid size below one lot is .

ℹ
Note:Grid size and capital always share one currency. Changing the currency is a structural change: every level's lot count is recomputed, so the resting ladder is cancelled and re-placed.
