Wizard step

Identity and metadata: the name, description, tags and visibility that make a strategy findable a year from now. Also where the immutable Strategy ID is minted.

Why it matters

Nothing in this step affects a single trade. It affects whether you can still work out what a does after you have twenty of them. A strategy called test 3 with no description is unmaintainable within a month, and unrecoverable if you ever need to explain a bad day.

Strategy name

The name is the primary identifier everywhere — the list, the execution dashboard, the marketplace, backtest reports. Typing a name also mints an 8-digit numeric Strategy ID from a hash of it. That ID is immutable and is what orders, positions and execution logs are keyed on internally, so it survives a later rename.

FieldTypeDescription
name*stringHuman-readable name, unique within your workspace, up to 100 characters. "Golden NIFTY", " Mean Reversion BTC", " Scalper".
strategyIdstring (8 digits)Derived from a hash of the name. Read-only. Used for order tracking and log correlation.
★
Pro tip:A pattern that scales: [approach] [indicator] [instrument] — “Trend Following BANKNIFTY”, “Mean Reversion BTCUSDT”. Sorting the list alphabetically then groups strategies by approach, which is how you actually look for them.

Description

Free-form for the logic, the market thesis, and what you expect the to do. It appears in the strategy list, the review step, and any marketplace listing. Write down the thesis, not the mechanics — the conditions already record the mechanics, and what you cannot reconstruct later is why you thought those conditions would work.

FieldTypeDescription
descriptionstringMulti-line describing the logic, the market conditions targeted, and the expected behaviour.

Tags

Tags drive filtering, search and marketplace discovery. Pick from the set or type your own. Two or three is usually : one for the approach, one for the class, one for the holding .

Built-in tags

FieldTypeDefaultDescription
tagsstring[][]One or more category tags. Custom values are accepted alongside the set.

Visibility and access

Private strategies are visible only to you. Public strategies can be discovered by other users. Marketplace listing is a further opt-in on top of public.

FieldTypeDefaultDescription
access*"private" | "public""private"Private: only you. Public: discoverable by other users on the platform.
marketplacebooleanfalseList on the marketplace so others can browse, copy and adapt it. Requires public access.
!
Caution:Publishing to the marketplace exposes the complete configuration — every entry and exit condition, every indicator and every parameter. There is no partial . If the edge is in the parameters, publishing gives it away.

Figure and saved strategies

An optional or chart screenshot becomes the 's thumbnail in the list, marketplace cards and review step. PNG, JPG or WebP; around 400×300 renders cleanly.

This step is also the entry to your saved strategies. Load one to continue editing, duplicate one as a starting point, or delete what you no longer need. A save captures the configuration from every step, not just this one.

Before moving on

  • A descriptive name following a consistent convention
  • The generated Strategy ID is showing
  • A description that records the thesis, not just the rules
  • Two or three tags: approach, class, holding
  • Visibility left private while the is still in development
  • A figure uploaded, if you intend to list on the marketplace
